knighthood。

Okay, as of this thread, Peter is now a sworn Knight of the Court of the Princess of Storms. And with this new job, as with any new job, there are certain perks that come with the promotion. This post will serve as a reference point for all these bonuses since they're a bit more complicated than a new parking space and a 5% annual salary increase.

〖 THE MOJO 〗
Peter's no longer just his regular, normal, human self. He's received a hell of a power boost, and gotten a passel of new abilities that can possibly grow even further. Who knows. ANYWAY as of right now, here's what he's got.

    • Enhanced strength
    • Accelerated healing factor
    • Enhanced senses - sight, hearing, scent
    • Magic-awareness - weather patterns, natural magic currents in the Wood, presence of power in others, nearby creatures/animals/monsters/fae and their threat level
    • Partial immunity to adverse weather conditions - extreme cold/heat/rainy weather won't affect him as much. However, this doesn't mean he's completely protected from fire or ice or anything like that. He just won't shiver or sweat or get pneumonia as much.

〖 THE SHINING STEEL 〗
To go with the office, Tempest gave him a hand-and-a-half or bastard sword. The hilt and scabbard are bound by plain but highly-polished black leather, with silver-plated steel at the guard and pommel. The trim on the scabbard is just silver, with no steel to it. The blade itself is carved with runes and is pretty effing long.

It most definitely has some spellwork laid into it, but for the most part doesn't act like it. ...Unless Peter gets worked up about something. Then it starts to smoke. A mist-like substance - like fog on a marsh on a cool morning - will start to wreathe and curl around the blade, with tendrils of it undulating and pulsing. The effect dies off an inch or three away from the sword, but. Yeah.

He has no fucking clue how to use this right now. And is more than likely more liable to stab himself then slice anyone else if he tries to swing it around. He's going to have to get some lessons before he goes off Galahad-ing anywhere. Peter has since had six~ months of training with this sword, and is a fair hand with it.

〖 THE NOBLE STEED 〗
What is a knight without it? Absolutely nothing, of course. However, as the Princess is hardly a traditionalist - except in her own strange ways - Peter doesn't have the usual white horse going for him. No, the Princess is more of a cat person. So instead, he has the privilege of riding a mechanical sabretooth tiger.

Peter hasn't named it yet, but it'll end up being called Fowler. Just because it's the most annoying, pain in the ass name he can think of.

    • Height: Nineteen hands, or 6'4" [1.93 m]
    • Weight: 3,000 lbs [1,360.78 kg]
    • Length: 14' from whiskers to tip of the tail [4.27 m]
    • Speed: 35 mph [566.33 kmh] at a loping canter, upwards of 70 mph [112.65 kmh] when running flat-out
    • Fangs: 20" [50.8 cm], extending from mouth even when closed
    • Claws: 6" [15.24 cm], retractable

    • Appearance:
Seems to be made primarily from polished bronze and copper plates, with intricate runic shapes carved into every visible inch of plating that match the sword. Eyes are without pupils, there are eight whiskers of silvered wire. Both fangs and claws are copper-plated steel, and sharp. Its tail is jointed, looking like a skeletal version if the skeleton was made of brass, and is liable to do a hell of a lot of damage just by itself.

The saddle is leather-bound, burnished to the color of red-gold, with a higher than average cantle and pommel. It's welded onto the back, and has various slots for tying saddlebags and other packages and/or people to. There is a built-in pillion behind the main seat of the saddle for a second rider.

    • Personality:
Think the biggest, shiniest dog ever. It's incredibly loyal to Peter, and will risk its own destruction to ensure its master's safety. This loyalty can also be transferred to any Peter tells it to look after, as long as the new protect-ee doesn't directly threaten Peter. This leads to it being extremely overprotective, and whenever confronted with an unknown person, it assumes it to be a possible threat unless told otherwise.

When not in a situation with clear and present danger, it has a very puppy-like view of things, which often causes it to forget it's a giant fucking metal thing the size of a Hummer H2. But even then, it will listen to Peter (...mostly - as long as it doesn't interfere with protecting him) and will do most anything its told. It's a very smart kitty.

However, it's still ultimately a creation of Tempest's. If it should get to the point where it might actually be considering its duty to Peter to be more important than following its creator's orders... Tempest can and will reset him. If this should happen, the personality will remain the same, but all memories and previous orders will be wiped from its proverbial hard drive. Oh, and since it is Tempest's creation, she went and put a few listening devices in it so she can personally follow her knight's activities. Of course, Peter knows about jack zip about all of this section so. Fun stuff.

It also seems to be attuned to Peter's mood. Hooboy. So far it's unclear whether they're actually empathically linked, or whether its simply really, really aware of its ward.
